JEAN-FRANCOIS DE TROY (French / 1679-1752)
Jean-François de Troy, Le Chevalier de Troy, came from a family of artists; his father François de Troy was a succesful portrait painter. Jean-François de Troy specialised in fashionable scenes in the Rococo style. From 1738 Jean-François de Troy was Director of the French Academy in Rome.
