E. DEBRIEUX (French / active 1870s)

We have not so far been able to find out anything about E. Debrieux, who published a single etching in the short-lived 1870s journal Paris à l'eau-forte. The etching plate was supplied to the editor Richard Lesclide by Debrieux's friend, the Impressionist Henri Guérard. Debrieux was evidently a skilled etcher. The name may have been a pseudonym used by an amateur artist, in the same way that Dr Paul Gachet published his etchings under the name Paul van Ryssel.
