PAUL JEAN CLAYS (Belgian / 1819-1900)

Paul Jean Clays, also known as Jean-Paul Clays. Born in Bruges, Clays was primarily a painter of seascapes, though he also painted landscapes under the influence of the Barbizon School. Clays studied under Horace Vernet in Paris.
