GUSTAVE LEHEUTRE (French /
1861-1932)
Gustave Leheutre was born in Troyes. Leheutre studied painting under Gervex, Humbert, and Carrière. Leheutre was associatied with the Nabis. Overwhelmed by the Whistler etchings exhibited in 1892 by Georges Petit, Gustave Leheutre switched from painting to printmaking, studying under Auguste Delâtre. Most of Gustave Leheutre's prints are landscapes or city scenes.
