LILI RETHI (Austrian/American / 1894-1969)

Lili Réthi was born in Vienna, and studied art under Otto Friedrich. Lili Réthi fled the Nazis when "invited" by Goering to produce propaganda images, and sought refuge in America, where Réthi lived for the rest of her life. Our lithograph by Lili Réthi (which amply demonstrates why Goering coveted her services) shows a Modernist enthusiasm for the coming of the machine age.
