Born in Wiesbaden, Raoul du Gardier studied under Gustave Moreau and Élie Delaunay. He first showed at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1897, and thereafter was a regular exhibitor at the Salons. The art of Raoul du Gardier shows the influence of the Nabis. Most of his prints portray his wife as his model.
