
The painter and etcher Auguste Charles Louis Oleffe is classed as one of the Brabant Fauves, though he was also deeply influenced by Manet. Auguste Oleffe specialised in seascapes and port scenes. Oleffe was born in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, and studied at the École de Dessin de Saint-Josse. He became a professor at the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts d'Anvers. See: L.
