ARY RENAN (French / 1857-1900)

Cornelis Ary Renan was a pupil of Puvis de Chavannes, and was also deeply influenced by Gustave Moreau and the Symbolists. Ary Renan was a poet as well as a parinter and engraver. He first exhibited at the Salon in 1880. There are paintings by Ary Renan in the Museums of Amiens and Luxembourg.
