JOSEPH PENNELL (American /
1860-1926)
A notable lithographer and etcher, Joseph Pennell was born in Philadelphia, but spent nearly thirty years in London, where he was a close friend (and eventual biographer) of Whistler. Joseph Pennell returned to America in 1912. See Wuerth, Catalogue of the Etchings of Joseph Pennell.
