LOUIS BUISSERET (Belgian / 1888-1956)

Louis Buisseret was one of the founder members of the Nervia group of Walloon artists, alongside Anto Carte and Pierre Paulus. Louis Buisseret was born in Binche (Hainaut). He studied at the Académie in Mons and then in Brussels under Jean Delville and Herman Richir. He won the 2nd Prix de Rome for painting in 1919, and the Prix de Rome for etching the following year. From 1929-1949 Louis Buisseret was the director of the Académie de Mons.
