SUZANNE ROGER (French / 1899-1986)

Suzanne Roger was born in Paris in 1899. She was taught by the Nabis artists Paul Sérusier and Maurice Denis. In 1919 Suzanne Roger married the artist André Beaudin. Suzanne Roger was strongly influenced by both Surrealism and Cubism; she knew Braque, Picasso, and Léger, and was a close friend of Juan Gris. Like Picasso, Suzanne Roger exhibited with Galerie Louise Leiris, who also published many of her prints. Suzanne Roger died in Paris in 1986.
