HENRI HERAN (German / 1864-?)

The real name of the Symbolist painter and lithographer Henri Héran was Paul Herrmann. Herrmann was born in Munich, but living in Paris decided to adopt a French pseudonym. Henri Héran was a contributor to L'Estampe Moderne. Héran is particularly remembered for his 1907 illustrations to Baudelaire's Petits Poèmes en Prose. Héran was a close friend of the Nobel Prize-winning writer Paul Heyse.
