PABLO PICASSO (Spanish /
1881-1973)
Unquestionably the most important artist of the twentieth century, Pablo Picasso mastered every technique and every style. Our Picasso prints include a wonderful series of reduced-size facsimile linocuts, early hand-stencilled pochoirs after Picasso paintings, reduced-size lithographs of Picasso posters by Mourlot, an original lithograph for the art revue XXe Siècle, and the only wood engraving from Picasso's edition of Hélène chez Archimède issued by the commissioning publisher, Vollard. Our copy of Hélène chez Archimède was published in 1931, a quarter of a century before the book finally saw the light of day.
