MAX ERNST (German / 1891-1976)

A towering figure in both the Dada and Surrealist movements, Max Ernst was born in Brühl, Germany, which is now the home to the Max Ernst Museum. Max Ernst was married three times (once to the art collector Peggy Guggenheim), and we also have work by his widow, the artist Dorothea Tanning.
