SILVANO BOZZOLINI (Italian / 1911-1998)

Silvano Bozzolini, a major figure in Italian abstraction, was born in Fiesole near Florence and died in Paris. Bozzolini studied art in Rome, Milan, and Florence. In 1946-47 he was part of the group Arte d'Oggi, Art of Today. In 1947 Silvano Bozzolini moved to Paris, where he remained for the rest of his life. Bozzolini's close artistic friends and associates included Jean Dewasne, Victor Vasarely, Robert Mortensen, Hans Arp, Sonia Delaunay, Jean Deyrolle, and Alberto Magnelli.
