JULES DUBOIS-MENANT (French / 1855-?)

The French painter and lithographer Jules Gabriel Dubois-Menant was born in Craon (Mayenne) on 11 April 1855. Dubois-Menant was taught by Félix de Vuillefroy. He was elected a member of the Société des Artistes Français in 1890, exhibiting regularly with this Salon and receiving a "mention honorable" in 1898. Jules Dubois-Menant lived into the twentieth century, but there appears to be no record of his death; as an artist he was at his most active in the 1880s and 1890s.
