ROBERT REHFELD (German / 1931-1993)

Robert Rehfeld was born in Stargard in Pommern in 1931. From 1948-1953 he studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in West Berlin. In association with other experimental German artists in the 1950s and 1960s (he was particularly associated with Ingo Kirchner and Hanfried Schultz) Robert Rehfeld blended various modernist aesthetics - Dada, Constructivism, Tachism, Fluxus, and Pop Art. Robert Rehfeld died in Berlin in 1993. There was a retrospective exhibition of his work at the Galerie Parterre in Berlin in 2008.
