NINO DI SALVATORE (Italian / 1924-2001)

Nino di Salvatore was born in Verbania in 1924. He was the founder and director of the Centro Studi Arte-Industria in Novara, and in 1954 founded the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan, influenced by the Bauhaus and Gestalt Theory, where he taught for the next 40 years. Nino di Salvatore was also in the 1950s a prominent member of MAC, the Movimento Arte Concreta, Italy's leading abstract art movement. Nino di Salvatore died in 2001.
