OTTO RICHARD BOSSERT (German / 1874-1919)

Otto Richard Bossert was born in Heidelberg in 1874, and studied at the Karlsruhe Academy. From 1904 Bossert taught at the Leipzig Academy of Graphic Arts. He was awarded the Villa Romana prize in 1914. The art of Otto Richard Bossert changed direction after 1911, when he was introduced to the works of Cézanne. He died in Leipzig in 1919. A monograph on his work by Julius Zeitler was published the following year.
