IRMA VON DUCZYNSKA (Austrian / 1869-1932)

Irma von Duczynska (or Dutczynska) was a contributor to Ver Sacrum and Zeitschrift für Bildende Kunst. She was born in Lviv (Lemberg) in Ukraine in 1869, of Austrian parentage. Active in Vienna and Munich, Irma von Duczynska studied under Heinrich Lefler and Ferdinand Andri at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. From 1909 to 1914 Irma von Duczynska ran an art school for women and children in Vienna, in collaboration with the Hungarian artist Imre Simay. During WWI she moved to Munich. Irma von Duczynska died in Wiesneck, Freiburg, in 1932, of chronic lung disease.
