ADOLPHE WILLETTE (French /
1857-1926)
One of the great artists of Montmarte in the Belle Epoque, Adolphe Léon Willette was born at Châlons-sur-Marne. Adolphe Willette studied under Cabanel at the Beaux-Arts, Paris. Today Willette is remembered for his posters, his lithographs illustrating the chansonniers of Montmartre, and his part in the foundation, decoration and life of the famous cabaret Le Chat Noir.
