MAURICE COURANT (French / 1847-1925)

Maurice François Auguste Courant was born in Le Havre in 1847. Maurice Courant was a pupil of Ernest Meissonier, He made his debut at the Salon de Paris in 1868, and was a regular exhibitor at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. Most of his paintings show scenes on the edge of the sea along the coast of Normandy and Brittany.
