WILHELM J. BURGER (Austrian / 1840 or 44-1920)

The pioneering Austrian photographer Wilhelm J. Burger opened a photographic studio in Vienna in 1874. Burger was especially known for his photographs of exotic countries, notably Japan. Around 1880 Wilhelm Burger accompanied an Austrian expedition to ancient Lycia (Anatolia) as official photographer.
