ANDRE BRASILIER (French / 1929-)

André Brasilier was born in Saumur (Anjou); both his parents were painters. Brasilier attended the École des Beaux-Arts, Paris, from 1949, where he studied in the atelier of Maurice Brianchon. In 1953 he won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome for painting. In 1959 André Brasilier made his first lithograph, in the atelier of Fernand Mourlot, under the guidance of the master printer Jacques Sorlier. Brasilier has had many solo exhibitions in Paris, New York, Tokyo, and elsewhere. See: Pichon, André Brasilier, Lithographies 1958-1991.
