CYRIL BOUDA (Czech / 1901-1984)

Cyril Bouda was the son of the art professor Alois Bouda. He studied at the School of Applied Arts in Prague from 1919-1923 under Frantisek Kysela, and the the Prague Academy of Fine Arts from 1923-1926 under Max Svabinsky. From 1923-1935 Cyril Bouda assisted Svabinsky's successor at the Academy, Tavik Frantisek Simon; Bouda married Simon's daughter, Eva Simonova, herself a noted artist. From 1946-1976 Cyril Bouda was himself Professor at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts.
