JACQUES BOULLAIRE (French /
1893-1972)
The wood engraver, etcher and illustrator Jacques Boullaire exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants from 1927-1945, and also at the Salons des Tuileries and d'Automne. Jacques Boullaire is especially remembered today for his many depictions of Polynesian life; his wife Anne Hervé had been brought up in the Tuamotu Islands, and the couple travelled all over Polynesia.
