LUC VERMEERSCH (Belgian / 1955-)
Luc Vermeersch was born in Ypres in 1955. He attended at the art school there, before studying graphics at the Hoger Sint-Lukas-instituut in Ghent. His early woodcuts show a pronounced sense of humour, and it is not surprising that Luc Vermeersch has gone on to forge a successful career as a cartoonist. In 2009 Luc Vermeersch was awarded the prestigious Davidsfonds Prize at the Knokke Heist Cartoon Festival.
