BORGE ELWI CARLSON (Swedish / 1917-2001)

Börge Elwi Carlson trained in Sweden and Denmark. He exhibited widely in Scandinavian countries, but also in Belgium, Canada, France, Italy, and the UK. He won a gold medal at international graphic exhibitions in Italy in 1968 and 1969. Börge Elwi Carlson worked in an expressionist style on both wood and lino, and also invented his own technique for colour graphics, Elwigrafi. He was also known for his bookplates.
