PER KROHG (Norwegian / 1889-1965)

Born in Asgaardstrand, Per Lasson Krohg moved to Paris as a young man and was part of the Montmartre "School of Paris" scene alongside his friend Jules Pascin. Per Krohg was the son of the important Norwegian artists Christian and Ida Krohg, and father of the muralist Guy Krohg. Per Krohg was taught by his father and then, from 1907-1909, of Henri Matisse. Per Krohg was close to Jules Pascin; his wife Lucy was Pascin's mistress.
