KNUT RUMOHR (Norwegian / 1916-2002)

The painter and printmaker Knut Rumohr was born in Frønningen on the Sognefjord. Rumohr studied at the Bergen Kunsthåndverksskole, the Statens Håndverks- og Kunstindustriskole, and the Statens Kunstakademie. Among his teachers were Per Krohg, Olaf Willums, Jean Heiberg, and Georg Jacobsen. Knut Rumohr is a highly-regarded Norwegian artist of the twentieth century, especially in his native region of Sogn. He represented Norway at the Biennale in Sao Paulo in 1955 and in Venice in 1962.
