DONATELLO (Italian / c.1386-1466)

Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi, best-known as Donatello, was the greatest sculpture of the early Renaissance. His masterpiece, commissioned by Cosimo de' Medici, is his bronze statue of David, now in the Bargello Museum, Florence.
