RUDOLF VON ALT (Austrian /
1812-1905)
Rudolf von Alt, sometimes known as Rudolf von Altamura, was born and died in Vienna. He and his brother Franz von Alt were both taught by their father, Jacob Alt, before entering the Vienna academy of fine art. Rudolf von Alt travelled widely, notably to Italy. His views of Vienna earned him the name "the Canaletto of Vienna".
