PAUL BURCK (German / 1878-1947)

Paul Bürck was born in Strasburg. He was apprenticed to a painter-decorator in Munich, but also attended the School of Arts and Crafts there. In 1903 he became a professor at the School of Arts and Crafts in Magdeburg. An important figure in German Art Nouveau (Jugendstil), Paul Bürck was a founder member of the Darmstadt Artists' Colony.
