WALTER CONZ (German / 1872-1947)

The painter and etcher Walter Conz was born in Stuttgart. His first teacher was his father, Gustave Conz, a landscape painter; subsequently he attended the Stuttgarter Kunstakademie, where he was taught by J. Grunenwald, and the Karlsruhe Kunstacademie, where he was taught by Leopold von Kalckreuth and Gustav Schönleber. In 1902 Walter Conz was appointed professor of etching at Karlsruhe. Walter Conz is known for both landscapes and portraits.
