EDWARD BAWDEN (English / 1903-1989)

The watercolorist and printmaker Edward Bawden is one of the most important British graphic artists of the twentieth century. Often associated with his close friend and fellow-student at the Royal College of Art, Eric Ravilious, Bawden outlived Ravilious by 47 years. Many works by Edward Bawden can be seen at the Fry Art Gallery, Saffron Walden, which focusses on the work of the Great Bardfield Artists, of whom Bawden was among the most prominent.
