ALPHONSE CHARLES MASSON (French /
1814-1898)
Alphonse Charles Masson was born in Paris. Masson was a pupil of Ingres and Descamps. He exhibited at the Salon de Paris from 1835. Alphonse Masson was a regular contributor of prints to the journal L'Artiste, over a period of nearly 50 years. He also engraved a number of portraits of French artists Théophile Silvestre's Histoire des Artistes Vivants in 1857.
