THEOPHIL LINDSEY ASPLAND (English / 1807-1890)
The painter and etcher Theophil Lindsey Aspland was born in Hackney. He was a pupil of the etcher G. Cooke. After working in Manchester and Liverpool, in 1848 Aspland settled at Estwaite Water in the Lake District, where he concentrated on painting lakeland landscapes.
