VICTOR GABRIEL GILBERT (French /
1847-1933)
Victor Gabriel Gilbert was born in Paris, and studied under Victor Adam and Charles Busson. He exhibited his genre paintings, often of market scenes, at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he won a gold medal in 1889, was made a chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1897, and was awarded the Prix Léon Bonnat in 1926.
