LOUIS BOULANGER (French / 1806-1867)

Louis Boulanger was born in Vercelli (Piémont). He studied at the Beaux-Arts under Lethière and Dévéria, and made his Salon debut in 1931. Boulanger was an important figure in the French Romantic movement, and was a close friend of the author Victor Hugo. He made portraits of both Hugo and Balzac.
