ALFRED LOUIS BRUNET-DEBAINES (French / 1845-1939)

Alfred Louis Brunet-Debaines (also sometimes listed as Louis-Alfred Brunet-Debaines) was born in Le Havre (Seine-Inférieure). He was a pupil of Normand, Lalanne, and Pils. After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts, he first exhibited at the Salon of 1866. Between 1872 and 1886 Brunet-Debaines lived in London, where he exhibited at the Royal Academy. Alfred Louis Brunet-Debaines is now remembered for his etchings rather than his paintings.
