Original lithograph by Joan Miró, executed for the art revue Verve in 1952. Signed in the stone. Printed on wove paper by Mourlot. A double page with a vertical central fold and tiny threadholes as issued. There are two further Miró lithographs on the reverse, comprising a preliminary sketch for this image, and the handwritten lithographed title, which is: Le chien aboyant à la lune reveille le coq le chant du coq picote le crane du fermier Catalan posé sur la table à coté du pourron. The dog barking at the moon wakes the cock, the song of the cock pecks at the head of the Catalan farmer resting on the table by the flask of wine. There were also 80 signed and numbered copies of this lithograph. Ref: Mourlot 189, Cramer 25. Condition: Excellent.
