IDBURY PRINTS

This original etching is now attributed to Eugenio Lucas (Spanish, 1817-1870), a follower of Goya. It was originally published an "une eau-forte inconnue de Goya" by the Revue de l'Art ancien et moderne in 1901, from an unpublished plate in the possession of the Spanish painter Ignacio Zuloaga. It is printed in bistre on cream wove paper by Louis Fort. Beneath the image is the credit F. Goya del. et sc. (now known to be erroneous), the title Un mendiant (Collection de M. Ign. Zuloaga), and credits to the publisher and printer. Condition: Excellent.
