Original copper engraving by Achille Ouvré after a drawing by William Malherbe. Printed on pure rag wove paper by l'Imprimerie Frazier-Soye. From an edition of the war memoir La Flamme au Poing by the artist's brother, Henry Malherbe, privately published in an edition of 300 copies, of which this is no. 74. There were also 31 suites of the engravings. William Malherbe's drawings for this very personal project have been interpreted with astonishing virtuosity by the master-engraver Achille Ouvré.
