A marvellous example of Oskar Kokoschka's art at its most innovative and vibrant. This lithograph is not usually handsigned, but our copy is boldly signed in pencil, with the words Orig. lithographie, Oskar Kokoschka's distinctive zigzagged signature, and the date 1920. Also initialled OK in the stone. From the 1923 edition of Die kunst des radierens (The Art of Etching) by Hermann Struck. Printed on high quality laid paper by A. Rogall and published by Paul Cassirer (who was also Oskar Kokoschka's dealer). Ref: Wingler-Welz 159. This print was lent to the exhibition Helikon: intens et divers in Hasselt, Belgium, 2009-2010.
