Original etching by Walter Franklin Lansil, signed and dated in the plate. Printed on wove paper. Minor discoloration to the extreme righthand edge of the sheet, otherwise fine. As published by Sampson Low in the 1880 edition of Maxime Lalanne's Treatise on Etching. This was Walter Franklin Lansil's "first essay" in etching, and his etching tools were a sewing needle and a knitting needle. We give the title as in the catalogue of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; in the Treatise on Etching the title is given as Vessels in Boston Harbor. Condition: Excellent.
