Original engraving by Édouard Monod-Herzen, signed with the artist's monogram in the plate. Published by the Gazette des Beaux Arts. This engraving - a beautiful example of French Japonisme - was made by a complex technique invented by the artist. Described as a gravure au marteau sur argent, it was engraved on a silver plate painstakingly hammered with chisels. Ref: Sanchez & Seydoux 1914-2. Condition: Excellent.
