ROBERT MOTHERWELL (American / 1915-1991)

Robert Motherwell was an important Abstract Expressionist, associated with Pollock, de Kooning, Rothko and Klein. Motherwell was influenced by Miró and the Surrealists such as André Masson who took refuge from totalitarianism in the USA during WWII.
