NICOLAS BERNARD LEPICIE (French / 1735-1784)

Nicolas Bernard Michel Lépicié was the son of the engaver and writer Bernard Lépicié. Problems with his eyesight led Nicolas Bernard to abandon engraving in favour of painting, which he studied under Carle Van Loo. He made his Salon debut in 1765, He was made a member of the Académie in 1769, and a professor in 1779.
