LOUIS ICART (French / 1888-1950)

Born in Toulouse, Louis Justin Laurent Icart arrived in Paris in 1907, at the age of 19, and found work in a postcard studio, where he learned printmaking techniques. His first exhibition was in Barcelona in 1912. His reputation as one of the foremost Art Deco etchers has grown over the years, and today demand for Louis Icart's lightly erotic Art Deco ladies is stronger than ever.
