JULES DUPRE (French / 1811-1889)
Jules Dupré was born in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique). Largely self-taught, Dupré was a leading member of the Barbizon School of plein-air landscape painters, alongside artists such as Théodore Rousseau (who was for many years a close friend and ally), Millet, Corot, and Troyon.
